I met G&G in Planets nightclub in Piccadilly around 1982. The club was hosted by Dencil. It was a new ‘night’ in this basement club that would usually be populated by slick Mayfair types. It wouldn’t last for long and was an early form of the pop-up I guess. All the fashion kids went, Blitz faces mostly and you had to get past Trojan on the door. Boy George was the dj , playing everything from The Glitter Band and The Sweet to The Human League. Gilbert & George were there with Norman Rosenthal (who later curated ‘Sensation’ at the Royal Academy) I asked if I could photograph them- all of them.. They said yes,
