Widely acknowledged as the first portrait of Bowery, this picture is in the permanent collection of the NPG London and has been published widely including the recent Leigh Bowery exhibition at Tate Modern and the definitive book on Bowery by  Robert Violette, who said Leigh looks like he was taking the shoot seriously , as if he thought the pictures would count for something one day
