13 May Jonny Woo at home Hackney London 2009

This was taken in Jonny’s old flat in Amhurst Rd, Hackney. My camera broke just as we started the shoot and this was taken on one of those old little Nokia’s that were’t really about the camera. We were in his bedroom rummaging through clothes and when I turned around Jonny was leaning against the wall playing with his ear in this unusual but natural pose playing with his ear. I love the painterly quality of the image created by the poor camera, the pastel colours and impressionistic feel. Reminds me of a Degas
